The dark side of the web

I've actually been lucky and have not been the target of a phishing scam or had viruses on my computer. I always have a good security program and I'm very suspicious of any email that I don't knoe the origin of. As other people have said - if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is! As for emails supposedly coming from banks - any bank I've dealt with has said that they don't contact customers this way

Yeah just used Feed my inbox to feed the link to the learning 2.1 to my email - I'm getting better

Have added mash ups australia link to my blog - very pale pink - may have to chnage my colour scheme

Well I'm following bkkeeper on my twitter account - aslo signed up to follow some other interesting magazines, people. I'll be interested to see what comes up

I'm not sure who I've invited to a meeting on 11th March. I can see that this would be a great tool for people who have lots of meetings to set up and attend but fortunately I'm not in that category

RSS filters

I really haven't checked my google account for quite a while. I think these tools look very good- any thing that allows you to filter your feeds. sometimes there is just too much information and i just give up trying to sort through it all - probably why I haven't checked my account. i think if my RSS feeds went to my email there would be much more change of me checking it out - like with the google alerts

I've actually had some google alerts - obviously I put in nundle as my keyword. Who would have thought so many exciting things were happening in nundle all the time

Well obviuosly I've already joined the library web 2.0 ning. I like the nings as they have more information on them than blogs.

Evaluation of web tools

I tried to send my survey monkey survey to my blog but something didn't quite gell. I'll be interested to see if I get any feedback on my blog!

Well Obviously I haven't done too much blogging since I finished Web2.0 - I do like the new look template and I'll try to keep more up to date

Well, have finished the training. I have found it very enjoyable and was astounded to learn what is on web 2.0- I'm not sure how much of it I'll use in everyday life as finding time seems to be a difficulty. I can see the potential for libaraies and other organisations.

Finally got my mash up onto my blog - not the badge for the dog as I saved it to my personal flash pen and left it at home! So I had to make a calender instead It was easy to put onto the blog once it was saved onto a flash pen. Also created a document in google - Ididn't know all these services existed on the net - I'm totally blown away

Well I made a mashup- a name badge for my dog however so far I haven't been able to psot it on my blog I've saved it ready to try again!

Well I have answered a question on Yahoo 7 although I have to say it took a while to find one that I felt qulified to answer- I can see the potnetial for Library services and I dare say many peole would like to comment on books and servuices etc that are available at the library. I do wonder however where everyone is meant to find the time to be slamming the boards and answering questions etc etc

How easy is this - have opened a library thing account and posted my "library" onto my blog - I would never have believed that I could do all these things - the only problem I have is finding enough time to check all my blogs , blogs readers, library things etc etc - let alone normal old emails!!

Have just had a look around delicious and added a link to my blog- I can see where this would be very good for libraries- just so easy to tag and add book marks in a public way

2.0 just gets more amazing - finding videos of the Dag on youtube was just too much! I've even put the video onto my blog page

Well I've just enetred the world of Wikis - lots of interesting information. Its still a concern to me as to the veracity of some of the infromation - despite what it says on the learning page of the State lib- although I guess this is the same for any information on the web I suppose you need to be somewaht discerning.

I have finally mastered RSS feeds but I have to say I didn't find it an easy way to get infromation - perhaps when i get used to checking and reading whats new and perhaps get faster at putting feeds onto my reader it may prove to be worthwhile. I did put a link to ABC news on my blog but I haven't done it correctly so will have to delete it and try again!
